As the first institution of its kind in the area, the Douglasville School of Art has been serving the community since it opened its doors in January 2001. Located in the oldest building in downtown Douglasville, the school offers students the opportunity to create art in an authentic artist's studio and a beautiful gallery in which to display their outstanding work.
Children learn through self expression and fun while experimenting with an assortment of drawing and painting materials. the experience of mixing colors and learning basic media techniques helps the child develop a keener eye toward a creative vision. Adult students have the opportunity to paint in an open atelier atmosphere with individual instruction.

The
owner and primary instructor of the school is Dr. Robby Pope,
who has a Ph.D. in art education from Florida State University.
His years of experience teaching students of varying ages and
ability levels allow him to bring out the best in each pupil.
"I encourage students to develop their own personal style of
painting. As you can see from the gallery of student work, a
variety of individual styles are being created and honed here."
